Young plants have simple laminas, adult plants have bipinnatifid leaves.
This new taxon has quite extraordinary flowers not just for the section but for the genus as a whole. The posterior two petals are shaped such that the "ears" form a funnel that guides the visiting insect's proboscis towards the tube entrance above them. In all other known species, the tube entrance is between the staminal column and the posterior petals.
This is a southern Cederberg species known from a fairly limited area but grows in substantial populations. The taxon is in the process of publication.
