The
recently defined section is comprised of four species, all sparsly to
much branched sub-shrubs with subsucculent to woody stems. Petioles
semi-persistent to persistent, Flowers with five subequal petals and
five (1 species) or seven (3 species) fertile stamens, hypanthium well
developed, longer than or equal in length to pedicel. Lamina simple to
palmately compound. Basic chromosome number, x = 10. Further
characters, on which the species are separated into a section are
pollen morphology, RbcL
gene
